About the pack
Spatial Cross Models is a resourcepack that fixes a visual bug in Minecraft, in which models containing flat planes have parts of their textures pop in and out of existence as you move around them.
By flipping and splitting specific faces and adding more model variations, it makes these models behave more naturally in 3D space and overall more realistically.
How the Pack works
- The base model for all cross blocks, "cross.json", has both planes split into two parts vertically, and both parts of a plane use only one side of the blocks texture, creating a mirror effect when looking at the block from a diagonal angle, and showing the original texture when looking from the side.
- There is a new type of model for cross blocks called "directional_cross.json" for items that wouldn't work with the original method because of their texture (Poppy, Pale Oak Sapling), which only flips specific sides of the planes.
- There is also a new variation of the base cross.json file called the "no stretch cross" that removes the stretching effect that can sometimes occur with the base cross model.
- Some blocks that wouldn't look correct with any of the methods mentioned before and without any additional changes had their textures upscaled by 200% and shifted slightly (Tulips, Dead Bush)
- Other blocks that don't use the cross.json model, but had their models changed (Cactus, Dripleaf), have the changes baked-in directly into the models.
FAQ
Q: Will you backport the resourcepack to an older version, such as 1.XX?
A: While it's not really supported, the pack should work on older versions without updating it. It's up to you to try and see!
Q: Is the pack compatible with other packs that change textures?
A: Yes, although some blocks might look off due to the changes SCM introduces.
Additional Info
Compatible with the Undead Bush resourcepack.
